Through the TICxCAT consortium, of which we are a member, we have led the full migration of the Institut Obert de Catalunya (IOC) website to WordPress. This technological renewal has modernized content management and significantly improved the user experience for an institution that serves as the benchmark for flexible online training in Catalonia.

The project’s main goal was to transform a Joomla-based environment, which faced technical limitations, into a more intuitive and flexible digital ecosystem. Thanks to our intervention, the IOC staff has gained the autonomy to manage the portal daily without relying on advanced technical support. Furthermore, we have placed a special focus on digital inclusivity, removing navigation barriers and ensuring that distance learning is truly accessible to everyone, including the implementation of Occitan language translation.

Thanks to a scalable and secure architecture, based on tools such as the Astra theme and the custom development of the “Orquestra IOC” tool, the institute now has a platform ready to provide an agile and efficient service to the more than 10,000 people who study at the center annually. This project ensures navigation that reduces cognitive load and strengthens protection against vulnerabilities, aligning technology with the entity’s current and future needs.
